Fuel oil is used commonly for burning in furnaces, boilers, stoves and lanterns to generate heat. It comprises of long hydrocarbon chains, such as alkanes, aromatics and cycloalkanes. Fuel oil has many different names but the most commonly used terms are: Diesel fuel.
